1280 x 800

"1280 x 800"

I have a laptop computer with a LCD monitor. The resolution should be 1280x800 but the Control Panel of Windows Vista won't let me choose anything besides 800x600 or 1024x768.
I think the problem is the VgaSave driver. That driver is so awful. It can't even find the correct memory size of my graphics card. I have a 64MB ATI Mobility Radeon 9200. I tried to install the drivers from ATI, but they don't appear to work with Vista. I know that my graphics card will work well with Vista, even thought it might not be able to display the Aero Glass graphics. Everything looks great on my computer except for the terrible 1024x768 resolution. Does anyone know how I can switch back to 1280x800?

Did you try to get Vista beta drivers from the ATI site? Or try to use the XP drivers? The biggest factor in cards is the WDDM or LDDM ability to make areo run and most of the newer cards have that ability. If you tried the ATI beta drivers and they did not install you should talk to them about installation-some beta drivers work only if installed a certain way.

I went to the ATI site, but they don't have any drivers for the Mobility Radeon 9200. I also tried the Windows XP driver, but it keeps saying that the driver could not be installed. Isn't there an easier way to just change the screen resolution to 1280x800? That's all I really need to do. Other than the resolution, the graphics card seems to be working fine.
